Bank of Ann Arbor Announces Final Results for Sweet 15 Local Charity Drive

Ann Arbor, Michigan, Friday, May 12, 2011, 9:15pm – Bank of Ann Arbor President and CEO, Timothy G. Marshall, announced the final results for the Sweet 15 Local Charity Drive which ended Thursday evening, May 12, at 10:15pm. Originally scheduled to run to July 31, 2011, the overwhelming response from the nonprofit organizations and their supporters generated enough votes to reach the maximum fund balance of $75,000 in only 11 days of voting in Round 2. Bank of Ann Arbor concluded that the right thing to do was to end the Sweet 15 Drive on May 12 so it could get the money to the nonprofit organizations in a quicker fashion to help provide much needed support for their operations.
The top 5 vote-getting organizations, each receiving $10,000 from Bank of Ann Arbor are: 
1. Plymouth Canton Music Boosters (3,962 votes)
2. Michigan Interscholastic Forensic Association (3,647)
3. Honey Creek Community School (3,539)
4. Humane Society of Huron Valley (3,519)
5. Women's Center of Southeastern Michigan (3,494)
These organizations will each receive $3,500 from Bank of Ann Arbor:
6. DSST-Down Syndrome Support Team (3,365)
7. Friends of Fiddlers Restrung (2,649)
8. The Neutral Zone (2,120)
9. Hope Clinic (2,070)
10. Ozone House (1,899)
These organizations will receive $1,500 from Bank of Ann Arbor:
11. Friends of Ann Arbor Skatepark (1,535)
12. Midwest Eye Banks (1,409)
13. Performance Network (1,381)
14. Ronald McDonald House (1,345)
15. Perry Nursery School (876)

About Sweet 15 Local Charity Drive
Round 1 of the Sweet 15 event ended on April 12 at midnight.  Facebook users were invited to “Like” Bank of Ann Arbor’s Facebook page and then vote for a favorite charity from a list of 600 local charities. 76,428 votes were cast for 399 nonprofits by 13,999 Facebook users.  Bank of Ann Arbor’s Facebook page grew from 279 “likes” to over 16,350 during Round 1.
Round 2 began at 9:00am on Friday, April 15, 2011.  Round 2 required users to submit the week’s fun stuff challenge in order to vote.  Each time a user submits, up to one time per day, a fun stuff challenge then $5.15 went into the Sweet 15 fund.  Users would then vote for their favorite charity from the list of 15 to receive a share of the funds. Round 2 was originally scheduled to end on July 31, 2011, fifteen weeks later. However, based on the tremendous response from the participants, Round 2 ended on May 12, 2011 at 10:15pm. Total voting for Round 1 and 2 exceeded 113,000 votes.
Bank of Ann Arbor’s Sweet 15 Local Charity Drive, is a Facebook application created to donate up to $75,000 to 15 local non-profit organizations.
